Speziallampen sind aufgrund ihrer technischen Eigenschaften nicht zur allgemeinen Raumbeleuchtung konzipiert. So kommen sie beispielsweise in Haushaltsgeräten, Terrarien , Infrarotleuchten, bei der Tierpflege oder in Heizleuchten zum Einsatz. Diese Art von Lampen werden von der Verordnung Nr. 244/2009 nicht tangiert. Aber auch Flugfeldbefeuerungslampen und Flugfeldlampen zählen zu den Speziallampen. Sie markieren und beleuchten dort die Bereiche der Start- und Landebahnen in Flughäfen.

Ihr Licht liegt im Spektrum der Farbkoordinaten, die die ICAO ( Internationale Zivilfahrt-Organisation) für weißes Licht festgelegt hat. Flugfeldbefeuerungslampen sind Niedervolt-Halogenlampen, die allerdings stromgesteuert sind. Anders als die üblichen Vertreter dieser Lampen-Art.
